Shipping policy

1. Shipping Rates

Alexandrie Cellars provides $10 ground shipping throughout the Contiguous United States (excluding AK & HI) as long as the minimum amount of bottles is purchased for each offer. If fewer than the minimum required for $10 shipping is purchased normal shipping rates will apply and you will see the additional cost for shipping before checking out.

2. Signature Policy

You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase wine from Alexandrie Cellars. All packages REQUIRE a signature by someone 21 years of age or older upon delivery. It is highly recommended that you provide us with a business shipping address for the best service. Customer comments on your order such as "Please leave on back porch" or "Leave at front door" unfortunately cannot be honored. Failure to comply with this policy will result in your wine being returned to Alexandrie Cellars without refund of any shipping charges. Please note that we can’t ship wine to P.O. Boxes.

3. Where We Ship

As shipping wine is complicated, we are constantly trying to update our shipping capabilities. If you have specific questions about shipping, please contact our Customer Service Department at info@alexandriecellars.com.

4. Title & Ownership

(A)  Except for orders going to the permit states described in section (B), title to and ownership of alcoholic beverages passes from seller to buyer in the State in which the sale occurs, and buyer takes all responsibility for the product being transported from the state of sale to the buyer’s selected destination. Seller makes no representation as to the legal rights of anyone to deliver or import any alcoholic beverages or other goods into any state. Buyer warrants he or she is solely responsible for the transport of the purchased products and for determining the legality and the tax/duty consequences of bringing the products to the buyer’s chosen destination.

(B)  For orders going to states in which Seller is licensed or has a direct to consumer shipping permit, title to and ownership of the product passes from Seller to Buyer in the state to which the product is shipped, and sales and other applicable taxes will be applied based on the requirements of the destination state. 

By placing an order, Buyer authorizes Seller to act on Buyer’s behalf in arranging for transportation of the product at Buyer’s direction. Alternatively, buyer may pick up the product at the Seller’s location, or make independent shipping arrangements.  For any product picked up at the Seller’s location, sales tax will be applied based on that location.  Prices of products do not include shipping/handling charges, the cost of which varies depending on destination, number of bottles ordered and choice of delivery options.

5. Hold Policy

Alexandrie Cellars will hold any order upon request up to 6 months from the time of purchase in our temperature controlled warehouse. This option can be requested during checkout by entering your request in the gift note section. We do not allow future shipping requests on Saturdays or Sundays as we do not ship from our warehouse on these days in order to minimize transit time. If you ever need to change the original date chosen, please contact us immediately; notice is needed 48 hours in advance of the date you would like to ship. Orders held over 6 month from date-of-purchase will be subject to a holding fee ($5/month/package). Any orders that are held over 6 months and cancelled may be subject to a restocking fee

6. Estimated Delivery Time

Orders placed will typically ship from our climate-controlled facility within the next 1-3 business days. Ground Service shipping is only available Mondays through Friday and transit times range from 2-5 business days.

7. Tracking an Order

Once your order has been completed, you will receive an email from Alexandrie Cellars confirming your order. Once your order has shipped you will receive an additional email which will include a tracking number for your convenience.

8. Containers

Products are packed in our “Shipper Approved” containers to ensure proper delivery. We do everything possible on our end to protect our products from temperature related damage (see “Hold Policy” above for additional delivery options).
